Donata Renfrow, Ph.D.
Television Documentary Producer

Donata’s first career was in education, later transitioning from teaching to consulting and training industry and government in customer communication and marketing. In the late 90s, her focus shifted to environmental projects with the Army, Air Force, Department of Defense, and the Corps of Engineers.
Her video production experiences began in the mid 90s with an innovative team that produced an hour documentary on alternate fuel vehicles and video documentaries of two White House education projects (Alaska Native / American Indian education reform and STEM--science/math/engineering/technology--education reform). Subsequent work documented national and international ecological research collaborations for the National Science Foundation. In 2008, she produced programs for a Comcast community television series, “People to Watch”, featuring leaders of Atlanta-area nonprofits like the Fuller Center for Housing, Chastain Horse Park, and Atlanta’s Community Food Bank. She also produced programs for Atlanta’s BeltLine project, the Chastain Park Conservancy, and the American Diabetes Association.
Volunteer video production services support the local Slow Food/organic farming movement and the League of Women Voters. She explores other ‘green’ business ventures and education reform topics, in between acting as a contract meeting planner and technical communication editor.
Donata holds a B.S. and M.S. in Speech Communications from the Southern Illinois University and a Ph.D. in Education with a minor in Management and Organizational Development from GSU, Atlanta.
