About the MCA-I Atlanta Promotional Video
A story of partnership, production values and persistence.
In memory of Jim Rothschild; written by Lance Lipman-
Video Assets, Inc.
When the idea of producing a short promo video for the Atlanta MCA-I chapter came up, I decided I had sat on the sidelines long enough and volunteered to produce and direct the project. At the time, I didn’t realize the number of colleagues who would become involved or the complexity of our simple little project.
I want to thank Don Glass for his vision and inspiration. Don was the un-credited executive producer of the project. I especially want to thank Jim Rothschild, Rothschild & Associates, who helped write and organize the video and became my chief collaborator. Jim had a wonderful way of approaching a project, looking at it from all angles. The flow of the sound bites was one of Jim’s great contributions to the project.
Jeff Jeffares of Broadcast Solutions, Inc. helped with the technical end of things. Mark Caston’s company HD Rents provided the HD-Cam camera for the interviews. Matt Osbourne, Keyframes Design, Inc. produced the animated logo and graphical elements. Dick Klinger, Hired Voice, Inc. tracked his typically masterful narration. Terry Thomas, Terry Thomas Photos gave us access to all of the great shots from past meetings.
Brennen Dicker of Crawford Communications, Inc. arranged for us to shoot in one of Crawford’s studios and later, to record the narration session. Home Depot supplied stock production footage that was layered behind the interviews. Broadcast Solutions, Inc. helped greatly by providing hi-def aerials at the beginning and end of the video. Jack English and Russ Jamison also digitized the HD-Cam footage and gave us access to their Final Cut Pro systems. Blue Media Supply, Inc. did the DVD duplication after the video was completed.
